The crisis of the petrol in France

As if the pandemic of the Covid-19 and the economic and financial consequences of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia were not enough, here is France confronted to a new hard time, the petrol scarcity which has provoked the closure of 30% of the filling stations. That risks to paralyze the activity and to generate a deep unsatisfaction among the population. In several regions, as in the North and in Ile-de-France, motorists in never ending queues wait in front of the last stations remained open. This situation results from several factors.

Just ten years ago, Mario Draghi, chairman of the European Central Bank, announcing in July 2012 that he will do all it is necessary “whatever it costs” to save the euro and putting into practice this decision, rescued the common currency. The new map of the natural gas

The threats weighting on Europe supplying of natural gas, the very strong increase of the prices which are resulting from it and the risks of a breaking of the deliveries to essential industries remind us the oil crisis of the Seventies. The barrel price, in less than ten years, came from 3 to 30 dollars. The creation of the OPEC allowed to keeping that level and an embargo on deliveries to European countries was even decided. So the natural gas has become a strategic fossil energy as was oil forty years ago.
