AB 2000 was created in 1994 by Alain Boublil and family shareholders. It serves as a framework for his consulting activities. With a capital of € 120,000, the company is registered with the RCS Paris under the number B 397 553 538.

AB 2000 does consulting for its customers, in the following areas:

Organization: structural adjustment to international development, support functions optimization, business-reviews implementation, coordination between the key function of business-development and business-units activities.

Tracking emerging markets: For 20 years, AB 2000 has built up a particular expertise on the Chinese economy and its relations with the Chinese communities in Asia. From 2003 to 2005, its president was a member of the International Advisory Committee of the Asian Institute of Technology, located in Bangkok. The company also carried out missions on behalf of its various clients in Russia, Brazil, Thailand and Egypt.

Monitoring energy markets: Since its inception in 1994, AB 2000 has monitored, on behalf of its clients, the evolution of energy markets in the world. It has notably focused on resources availability (identifying early, for instance, the consequences of the shale gas revolution), and new production techniques or regulatory aspects, particularly in Europe, the USA and China.

Economic and financial analysis: On behalf of its clients from the financial sector, AB 2000 has regularly produced reports analysing the economic situation in developed countries. From 1997 to 2008, Alain Boublil participated in the work of the G7 Group. The G7 Group was a research office based in the United States, which published a daily letter gathering information on the monetary, fiscal and political situations of the industrialized countries to inform major banks and financial institutions located in London and New York.

Restructuring and equity investments: AB 2000 has helped its clients reflect on their development, their policy of acquisitions or their capital restructuring. In 2000, AB 2000 entered the capital of a client’s company and served on the board of directors. From 2014, on behalf of investment funds, AB 2000 has studied the possibility to enter the capital of innovative companies or large groups in order to develop strategic partnerships.
